Δύο σχεδόν μήνες πριν την φετινή απονομή βραβείων Oscars και οι υποψηφιότητες είναι γεγονός. Σήμερα, 8 Φεβρουαρίου, ανακοινώθηκαν οι ταινίες, οι ηθοποιοί, οι σκηνοθέτες και οι συντελεστές που διεκδικούν το πολυπόθητο χρυσό αγαλματίδιο και ως επι το πλείστων οι προβλέψεις έπεσαν μέσα. Εξαίρεση φυσικά είναι η Kristen Stewart που απουσιάζει από τα BAFTAs αλλά εδώ βρίσκεται ανάμεσα στις υποψήφιες για ''Α' Γυναικείο Ρόλο''. Αυτή είναι και η μοναδική κατηγορία στην οποία βλέπουμε την ταινία ''Spencer'' παρά τις εξαιρετικές κριτικές που είχε λάβει στο Φεστιβάλ Βενετίας.
Κατά τα άλλα, στην κατηγορία ''Καλύτερης Ταινίας'' βλέπουμε το πολυσυζητημένο ''Don't Look Up'' και το ''The Power of the Dog'' του Netflix, το ''Dune'', το remake του ''West Side Story'' και το συγκινητικό ''CODA'' του Apple TV Plus.
Η τελευταία ταινία του Daniel Craig ως James Bond, το ''No Time To Die'' απουσιάζει εντελώς από τις μεγάλες κατηγορίες, με εξαίρεση το ομώνυμο τραγούδι της Billie Eilish που... διεκδικεί το πρώτο της Oscar και κάποιες τεχνικές κατηγορίες.
H απονομή θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 27 Μαρτίου.
